Slow growing herb that likes dry, sunny conditions.  Requires 6 – 8 inches of sunlight.  Soil does not need to be too rich or moist and tolerates being dry between watering. Does not like wet-feet so plant in containers with excellent drainage. Poor soil is actually a good environment for growing.  Fertilize annually. Provide good space between plants to avoid fungus in humid environments.  treat bronchitis and cough. It serves as an antispasmodic and expectorant in this role.  Used in cooking and mixes well with garlic, olive oil, and tomatoes.
