Pollinator. Grows in sun with afternoon shade or partial shade.  Can thrive in poor, dry soil, but prefers moist well-draining soil. Wide soil pH range. Water weekly but does not like soggy soil.  Older plants can dry out between waterings. Can be used to support gastrointestinal, respiratory and cardiovascular disorders and respiratory needs.  Flowers are edible and sweet in salads. White blooms later than blue varieties.  Gives the flavor of cucumbers to salads, souls, dips and drinks.  Leaves can be chopped in cooking.  Stalks can be chopped and cooked to tender and eaten.
