In My Garden Now...

Last year, this time, I was so busy getting other sites and school gardens ready for summer I was late on my garden. This year, I am nicely on time. I still have cool weather plants growing, but I have happily started summer plants as well. I did plant peas a couple of weeks ago and they are now sprouting before it gets too hot. Many things that I planted last year have come back including all of my herbs, but also my pomegranate tree which looks like is going to produce fruit this year. After all these years, the garden is still my happy place! How is yours doing?

Remember the file cabinet where I planted collard greens? Look at it now! A cabbage worm put some holes in some leaves, but I took care of him!

The pomegranate flower is beautiful! I have three so far, so hopefully fruit this year! My cherry trees also look great!

I taught my husband to install a bee nuc! He loved the process! Love having bees on the land!

And yes, I am resourceful! Someone in my neighborhood threw out this planter with a screened cover top! It is now in my yard and will be planted with lovely veggies this weekend!

This is my new baby. I actually happened upon 2 at the Farmer's Market Spring Sale. 2 Gingko Biloba trees! Something new and powerful to add to my dried tea mixes!

Here is a clump of my plantain. It has grown so that the leaves are almost 1.5 feet long each!

Red Sorrel (not the hibiscus sorrel) is still growing strong! I am adding summer sorrel to this bed as the red sorrel, which is more of a cool weather green, dies back.

And finally, my daughter's beloved plum tree is full of baby plums! Should be a good season!
